"Weather" You're Here or's Out of This World!

Weather patterns on Earth are changing, and scientists are hard at work to discover what that means for us on our planet! We'll create our very own storm clouds to understand how weather works, and research the real world impact of our rapidly changing climate

Then, we'll suit up and blast off across the milky way! First stop...the moon! We'll study what our nearest celestial neighbor is made of, and how it's gravity affects us here on Earth everyday. Then, we're off to Mars! Time to check out the atmosphere and geology of the mysterious Red Planet to see if it's fit for humans to inhabit. 3...2...1...Blast Off!

Join us for our Fall Virtual STEM Club and immerse yourself in science and discovery from the comfort of your home. We begin our journey discovering the weather patterns of Earth - performing observations, creating models and analyzing data. Then we blast off into space to investigate the geology on Mars, the surface of the Moon and the wonders of black holes.

This curriculum is tailored to coincide with school's NGSS Earth and Space standards - including using observations of the sun, moon, and stars to describe patterns that can be predicted (ESS 1-1) and collecting data to provide evidence for how the motions and interactions of air masses result in changes in weather conditions (ESS 2-5). As well as, developing our scientific skills of asking questions, making observations, performing investigations, collecting evidence and analyzing data (NGSS SEPs). Every lesson includes integrated math moments to complement our observations and evaluating, further practicing our mathematical knowledge and skills.

"My favorite part of STEM Club was meeting new people that made me think a different way." - STEM Club Scientist
