STEAM Sessions

STEM Sessions is our FREE web series for all aspiring scientists and anyone interested in science / technology / engineering careers! STEM Sessions are LIVE meet-and-greets over Zoom, where you have the opportunity to meet with real scientists and engineers from science and technology companies! During each STEM Session, our featured speakers share their STEM story — their career path, obstacles they may have faced, what they do in their current role, and more. Because our STEM Sessions happen live over Zoom, you also get the opportunity to ask them any questions you may have!

Meet the Author: Tenille Bettenhausen "Maybe I'll Be an Architect"

FREE STEM SESSION

Date: Thursday, March 23, 2023
Time: 4:15 p.m. PT / 7:15 p.m. ET

Calling all STEAM girls! Join us on Thursday, March 23rd from 4:15-5:00pm PT for a very special author read aloud of “Maybe I’ll Be an Architect” by Tenielle Bettenhausen. We will get to know this incredible Black author, woman in STEAM, and parent of Project Scientist alumnae as she shares her STEAM journey and inspiring children’s book. Be sure to stay on after her read aloud for a fun architecture activity with our Project Scientist teachers!

Materials Needed from Home:

Tenille Bettenhausen is a Black author, woman in STEAM, and parent of Project Scientist alumnae. After discovering that women represent only 26% of STEM professionals in the U.S., and only 0.04% of licensed architects in the U.S. are Black, she felt compelled to write a book to inspire all girls to explore STEAM careers!

*This bilingual program will be provided in English & Spanish and will have an ASL interpreter as well.
