Project Scientist is proud to partner with the first-of-its-kind HBCU public school in Queens, New York—an institution built to be innovative, revolutionary, and unapologetically bold in preparing the next generation of leaders.

This fall, Project Scientist will launch its Scholars Circle, a STEAM leadership program for teens ages 13–18. Scholars will dive into innovation as Brilliant Builders & Bold Breakers—designing custom toys, building robotic arms, and tackling real-world challenges through weekly hands-on STEM adventures.

For over a decade, Project Scientist has advanced equity in STEM nationwide, serving more than 27,000 girls through hands-on programs, corporate partnerships, and research-driven impact. While our legacy has centered on girls, we believe deeply in this school’s mission to serve every student. We are bringing our high-quality curriculum, mentorship, and long-term commitment to support its success.

“This school represents an unstoppable possibility in motion,” said Dr. Patrice S. Johnson, President & CEO of Project Scientist“We know what it means to create spaces that have never existed before, and we’re committed to walking alongside this community to make sure every young person has access to the excellence, opportunity, and inspiration they deserve. This is not just a partnership, it’s a promise.”

In addition to this historic collaboration, Project Scientist is also partnering with three more schools across the greater NYC area—expanding access and moving toward a future where equity in STEM education is a reality.

Dr. Asya Johnson, Creator & Founder, HBCU Early Prep School, added: “Partnering with Project Scientist allows our scholars to see themselves as innovators and changemakers, opening doors to STEM opportunities that reflect both their brilliance and their potential.”
